MTashnay name is Tasnaheca and I am the owner of Lakhota.Com... 
I am an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe of Eagle Butte, South Dakota and was raised in Yankton, South Dakota and Lawrence, KS.  I attended college at Haskell Indian Nations University and studied Art History and Computer Communication.  

 

I run this site to keep in touch with my language and culture.    

 LAKHOTA.COM's HISTORY

Lakhota.Com was originally created in 1995 by a group of Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Members who saw a need to promote the Lakhota language on the internet.  Through the years, the members who originally came together to create this site separated to pursue their individual paths and the funding ran out.  Because Lakhota.Com was important to me, I solely assumed the responsibility of running the site in 1999 and it's financial obligations and continue doing my best to keep this site as alive as the language it represents.
 

LANGUAGE STUDY
Lakhota.Com / TNW Creations offers a Basic Lakhota Computer Program using a Digital Flash Cards Learning System, a Pocket Sized Lakhota Dictionary, Children's Coloring Books and a Basic Lakhota Workbook.
